Bio
Heather K. D'Onofrio is a Principal in the firm's Professional Liability Department and Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group. She focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers and medical professionals in matters involving alleged malpractice, catastrophic injuries, and significant financial exposure. Her clients include physicians, nurses, pharmacists, hospitals, and health systems.
Ms. D'Onofrio is a seasoned litigator with over 20 years of experience successfully representing both plaintiffs and defendants in professional liability, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injury litigation in the Philadelphia region. Ms. D’Onofrio began her legal career at Post & Schell where she spent eight years in the Professional Liability Department. Before returning to Post & Schell, Ms. D’Onofrio spent several years as owner and partner at The D’Onofrio Firm, where she practiced alongside her husband. Most recently, Ms. D’Onofrio represented plaintiffs in catastrophic medical malpractice actions.
Ms. D’Onofrio was named a “Super Lawyer” from 2019 to present and was selected as a "Pennsylvania Rising Star" (for top attorneys in Pennsylvania under the age of 40) from 2011 through 2017. Ms. D'Onofrio lives in Delaware County with her husband and two children. She is active in her community and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Delaware Community College's Paralegal Studies program and on the Board of Directors of the Helen Kate Furness Library.
