Jill A. Gilden is a Principal in the firm's Workers' Compensation Department and a Member of the firm's Board of Directors. Beginning the practice of workers' compensation defense in 2001, she joined Post & Schell in 2006. She focuses her practice exclusively on the defense and representation of Pennsylvania employers and insurance companies/third-party administrators in workers' compensation proceedings.
During the course of her practice, she has handled a wide variety of disability claims arising from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's workers' compensation system, including catastrophic loss, hearing loss, mental stress, and the more typical orthopedic injury claims. Additionally, she has defended a number of employers using the existing independent contractor relationship. Ms. Gilden's practice also includes counseling employers on risk management issues to assist them in navigating the early stages of a workers' compensation claim before litigation ensues.
While defending Pennsylvania employers, Ms. Gilden has had the opportunity to represent a diverse field of industries, including commercial retailers, moving companies, trucking companies, local municipalities, healthcare providers, construction companies, and both small and large corporate entities.
Ms. Gilden was selected for inclusion in 2010, 2011, and 2012 editions of Philadelphia Magazine's "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer - Rising Stars" Edition. The Best Lawyers in America™ recognized Ms. Gilden in its 2025 edition in the Workers' Compensation Law - Employers category.
