Kira M. Rivera is an Associate in the firm's Professional Liability and Casualty Litigation Departments. She defends hospitals, behavioral health facilities, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in alleged malpractice litigation involving catastrophic injuries with high financial exposure. She also defends clients, including self-insured businesses and insurers, in complex litigation involving claims of premises, toxic tort, and products liability. Her clients include companies in the healthcare, construction, real estate, and manufacturing industries, among others.
With nearly a decade of experience, Ms. Rivera manages all phases of client defense, from initial assignment through trial, mediation, and/or settlement. She handles initial investigation, pleading and motion drafting, depositions, and expert retention through case resolution. Ms. Rivera was also part of the inaugural class of the nation's first Executive LL.M in Litigation Management at Baylor University Law and is well-versed in litigation project management, business strategies and processes, process improvement, insurance coverage, crisis management, legal data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Prior to joining Post & Schell, Ms, Rivera was an Associate with regional and national insurance defense firms. In addition to her LL.M from Baylor, she is a 2012 cum laude graduate of Duquesne University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College.
