Paul W. Grego is a Senior Counsel in the Firm's Casualty Litigation Department. Mr. Grego has been involved in all aspects of defense work, with particular emphasis on commercial trucking, motor vehicle, premises liability, products liability, and amusement park liability. He is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, where he taught legal research and writing. He worked for insurance defense firms in New Orleans and Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 1981 to the time he joined Post & Schell in 1988. He has tried dozens of cases to verdict over the years in both State and Federal Courts in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Maryland. He has extensive experience in defending cases involving wrongful death and brain injury. He also is selected as a defense arbitrator in numerous uninsured and underinsured arbitration proceedings. He is also a trained mediator and is particularly adept at all Alternative Dispute Resolution matters.
Mr. Grego published an article for Defense Research Institute in their exclusive trucking issue of “For the Defense” entitled “A Litigation Target – Commercial Vehicle Anti-Lock Braking Systems.” He regularly attends seminars and is actively involved in meetings in the trucking field, including those sponsored by the Transportation Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the American Trucking Association, the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). He concentrates his trucking practice in the areas of personal injury and freight claim litigation and DOT audits.
Mr. Grego handles liability litigation for a host of different insurers and self-insureds, including Zurich, T.H.E., Great American, Celina, American International Group, AI Transport, Ace USA, Gallagher Bassett, EMC, National Grange, MetLife, Donegal Group, Westfield Group, Goodville Mutual, Agency Ins. Co. of Maryland, Pennsylvania Lumbermens, Knoebel's Amusement Resort, Lakemont Park, Rite Aid, Dean Foods, TMC Transportation and Roehl Transportation. He is regularly consulted by these and other of the firm’s clients for pre-litigation advice and strategy.
