Anthony L. Miscioscia and Celestine Montague Join Post & Schell as Principals in the Firm's Insurance Law Department
Philadelphia, PA – May 15, 2023 – Post & Schell, P.C. is pleased to announce that Anthony L. Miscioscia and Celestine Montague have joined the firm as Principals, and Rachel Armely as an Associate, in its Insurance Law Department in the firm’s Philadelphia office. All three attorneys join from the law firm of White & Williams LLP, where Mr. Miscioscia and Ms. Montague served as Partners and Ms. Armely as an Associate.

With nearly 30 years of experience representing and defending large, multi-line insurance carriers and smaller, regional insurance companies, Mr. Miscioscia advises and defends insurers in connection with complex and emerging issues under both first-party and third-party insurance policies. He handles coverage and litigation matters including construction defect; environmental liability and toxic tort; professional liability; premises liability; sex trafficking; Covid/business interruption; and advertising injury/intellectual property matters among others. His practice also includes advising and representing insurers in intervention, rescission, and recoupment actions.
Mr. Miscioscia has been selected by his peers to The Best Lawyers in America® for Insurance Law since 2019 and in 2022 was named a "Lawyer of the Year" in Philadelphia, PA for Insurance Law. In 2020, he was recognized as a “Top 10 Author” in Insurance in the JD Supra 2020 Readers' Choice Awards. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.A.
Ms. Montague counsels and defends regional and large, multi-line insurance carriers in first- and third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters. This includes crime; cyber, media, and technology; directors and officers (D&O), financial lines, and errors and omissions (E&O); professional liability; and commercial general liability. She has served as Coordinating Counsel for a national multi-line insurer, and provides guidance on preventing, handling, and defending extracontractual claims in jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Ms. Montague has a broad range of experience in emerging issues in complex insurance coverage litigation, including claims involving sexual abuse and environmental liability. She manages complex, multimillion-dollar cases through all stages of litigation, from pre-trial strategy through post-trial relief. She represents insurance companies in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as in various alternative dispute resolution forums, including private arbitrations and mediations.
A graduate of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, Ms. Montague also holds her M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from Dickinson College.
A former associate at a New York coverage firm and then White & Williams, Ms. Armely counsels and assists multi-line insurance carriers and regional insurance companies in all aspects of coverage matters, including insurance contract analysis and preparation of coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters. She also defends insurance clients against bad faith claims and represents them in coverage disputes through declaratory judgment actions. She is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law and holds her B.A. from Florida State University.
