On April 10, 2019, Charles W. Spitz presented, "What to Do When Law Enforcement/Government Comes Knocking," at HospitalityLawyer's Annual Hospitality Law Conference in Houston, TX.
Mr. Spitz examined a variety of evolving legal issues for the hospitality industry, including human trafficking, drug-related offenses, and criminal conduct by employees and/or management, and how they raise significant criminal and civil liability exposure. He also examined the related complex investigations and interactions with law enforcement and regulatory bodies that many hospitality companies find themselves under prepared and inexperienced in dealing with, and potential litigation that can involve substantial penalties, potential civil suits, and jail time.
