Charles Spitz Provides Insight to Business Insurance Magazine on Sex Trafficking and Hotel Liability
In the August 2017 issue of Business Insurance magazine, Hospitality & Retail Group Co-Char Charles W. Spitz provided comments and insight on the legal liability for the hospitality industry related to sex trafficking.
The article, "The hospitality industry's lurking liability," looks at why the hospitality industry must examine its approach to service, privacy, and security as it faces growing allegations that, at best, it is not doing enough to combat sex trafficking.
Mr. Spitz notes that he counsels clients in the industry to use training and hit the issue head-on. He says, "you can’t bury your head in the sand. If it gets in front of a jury (and) you say didn’t know … it doesn’t pass the smell test at all.”
