Glenn Campbell Presents on UTPCPL and UCC in Construction Defect Litigation at PBI's 2019 Real Estate Institute on Dec. 5 and 6
On December 5 and 6, 2019, Glenn M. Campbell made two presentations at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's (PBI) 2019 Real Estate Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
On December 5, Mr. Campbell presented, "Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law in the Context of Construction Defect Litigation." The presentation examined claims brought under Pennsylvania's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL) related to construction defects. He examined who can bring claims under the UTPCPL, types of damages under these claims, how they are pursued by plaintiffs, and how they are defended by companies and insurers targeted by the claims.
On December 6, Mr. Campbell presented, "Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code in the Context of Construction Defect Litigation." The presentation examined claims brought under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code (UCC) related to construction defects, and how these claims are pursued by plaintiffs and defended by companies and insurers.
