Insurance Principal Rich McMonigle Consulted by The Legal Intelligencer on Insurance Bad Faith Awards in Northeast Pennsylvania
The Legal Intelligencer recently consulted with Insurance Principal and author of the book Insurance Bad Faith in Pennsylvania, Richard L. McMonigle, Jr. regarding the number of large insurance bad faith awards in Northeast Pennsylvania.
Mr. McMonigle comments that:
"As part of updating my bad-faith book, I do try to keep track of all significant opinions and all significant bad-faith verdicts and I can certainly say there have been some large monetary awards in bad-faith cases that were handed down in Northeast Pennsylvania. What I can't say is whether there is a disproportionate amount, but certainly there have been some very significant bad-faith verdicts in favor of plaintiffs in Northeast Pennsylvania."
