Nursing Homes Brace for Onslaught of Federal and State Audits

AHLA's Fraud & Abuse Newsletter

In the April 2013 issue of the American Health Lawyers Associations Fraud & Abuse Newsletter, Paula Sanders, Principal and Chair of Post & Schell's Health Care Practice Group, along with Associate Laura Weeden, discusses audit concerns for nursing homes in the article, "Nursing Homes Brace for Onslaught of Federal and State Audits."

Sanders notes that:

"Medicare and Medicaid-certified long- term care facilities and nursing facilities across the country are preparing for an onslaught of federal and state audits. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of Inspector General (OIG) has made no secret of its belief that these…facilities…have been overbilling Medicare."
