Paula Sanders Presents on Abuse and Neglect Exposures at LeadingAge PA's Virtual 2020 Annual Conference and Expo on August 19


On August 19, 2020, Paula G. Sanders presented, "Allegations of Abuse and Neglect: Understanding Regulatory, Reputational, and Criminal Exposures," at the 2020 LeadingAge PA Annual Conference and Expo. This year's event was held virtually.

Ms. Sander's presentation examined areas of focus for SNFs and long-term care facilities regarding:

  • Abuse and neglect under the Requirements of Participation (ROPs) and the State Operations Manual (SOM), Appendix PP.
  • New laws and risks related to criminal liability for abuse and neglect.

The presentation also examined hypotheticals and provided best practices for providers to prevent abuse and neglect and address the related regulatory, reputational, and criminal exposures.
