Post & Schell Expands Pittsburgh Presence with Addition of 11-Attorney Group
Philadelphia, PA – March 11, 2021 – Post & Schell, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of five new Principals, one new Counsel, and three new Associates to the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA office, one new Principal to the firm’s Allentown, PA and Pittsburgh, PA offices, and one new Principal to the firm’s Philadelphia, PA office. The eleven-attorney group, along with six staff members, significantly expands the firm’s Casualty Litigation Department, and the firm’s presence in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. The group joins the firm from the law firm of Litchfield Cavo LLP.

Hilary C. Bonenberger
Hilary dedicates her practice to the defense of parties in toxic tort and mass tort litigation, including asbestos claims. She also defends clients in premises liability, products liability, and other general liability matters.
Colby S. Bryson
Colby focuses his practice on a wide array of civil litigation matters across several jurisdictions including premises liability, products liability, toxic tort, industrial accidents, property damage, motor vehicle claims, consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and breach of contract. This includes the defense of clients in claims involving fatalities, permanent injuries, property damage, fires, and dig-in accidents.
Leo G. Daly
Leo is an experienced trial attorney whose practice includes toxic tort litigation, product liability, commercial litigation, and environmental matters. His experience includes complex multiparty lawsuits involving both personal injury and property damage. Leo also has an extensive background in general liability and class action work including lead paint class action defense for Western Pennsylvania housing authorities. He also has an active commercial litigation practice.
Cathy R. Gordon
Cathy has extensive experience in a broad range of civil defense litigation matters. She defends manufacturers and suppliers in products liability, premises liability, and toxic tort cases nationwide. Cathy also represents companies in litigation involving accidents and injuries, employment-related matters, commercial disputes, and cost recovery.
Ryan L. Leonard
Ryan counsels and defends clients in toxic tort, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation matters. His practice has a particular emphasis on the area of toxic tort defense with a focus on asbestos litigation and benzene and diacetyl cases. He also represents physician groups and medical professionals and defends them in professional liability claims and reviews regulatory agreements for compliance. He has extensive experience drafting complex contracts including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, leases, and subleases for commercial real estate and office space, and multifaceted contracts for vendor services.
Edward A. Smallwood
Ed represents and defends clients in premises liability, products liability, trucking liability, and toxic tort liability matters, and related litigation. His clients include energy and utility companies, including electric utilities and oil, mining, construction, and transportation companies. Ed also handles all phases of litigation and serves as National Coordinating Counsel overseeing toxic tort litigation throughout the country.
Kelly L. Smith
Kelly maintains a national litigation practice focused on general civil defense and toxic tort defense. Her clients include product manufacturers, product suppliers, contractors, premises owners, and employers. She participates in all phases of litigation in various jurisdictions and serves as National Coordinating Counsel overseeing toxic tort litigation throughout the country.
John W. Bruni
John has more than 25 years of defense litigation experience in toxic tort, products liability, and premises liability claims. His clients include product manufacturers, industrial contractors, suppliers and distributors, utilities, employers, and owners in various product and premises liability, negligence, and toxic tort claims including asbestos, silica, and benzene exposure claims across the nation.
Josh M. Brick
Josh counsels and defends clients in general liability claims, including premises liability, toxic tort, products liability, commercial transportation liability, and automotive injury claims.
Steven D. Evans
Steve counsels and defends clients in civil litigation matters including those involving toxic tort, products liability, and general liability. He is experienced in motion practice and discovery.
