Bio
Elizabeth A. Johns is Counsel in the firm's Professional Liability Department and Medical Malpractice Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Johns has nearly 20 years of experience counseling and defending healthcare provider clients in litigation involving alleged medical malpractice and high financial exposure. Her clients include hospitals, health systems, physicians, physician assistants, and nurses, among others.
Ms. Johns also counsels clients on exposure reduction and risk management in the healthcare industry. She presents education programs for clients, including residents and hospital staff, related to litigation basics, evidence preservation, and loss prevention.
Before joining Post & Schell, Ms. Johns served as the Litigation Manager for a large, southeastern Pennsylvania health system. During her tenure, she managed a portfolio of lawsuits and compensable events involving allegations of professional or general liability from investigation through case resolution. Ms. Johns also served as the Director of Risk Management for a group of Delaware County, PA hospitals. She began her career as a medical malpractice Associate with a regional civil litigation firm.
Ms. Johns is a 2005 graduate of Penn State University, Dickinson School of Law, and holds her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park.
