Bio
Jay A. Gebauer is a Principal in the Firm's Casualty Litigation and Professional Liability Departments and Administrative Principal of the Firm's Mt. Laurel, NJ Office. He defends clients in all aspects of negligence defense work with a particular focus on medical and professional malpractice, products liability, premises liability, commercial transportation liability, and general liability cases. His matters include cases with complex fact patterns, catastrophic injuries, and high financial exposure.
Mr. Gebauer's represents companies and individuals in the manufacturing, health care, hospitality, entertainment, and commercial transportation and trucking industries, among others. Barred in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, he serves clients in all three states and is based in Post & Schell's New Jersey office.
Mr. Gebauer is a veteran litigator who has tried more than 80 jury trials to verdict in federal and state courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. He has also defended clients before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He is a former Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York, and was a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.
