Post & Schell Announces New Board Member and Chairs of Insurance Law, Appellate and Business Law & Litigation Departments

PHILADELPHIA, PA – January 29, 2015 – Post & Schell, P.C. today announced a new election to the Firm’s Board of Directors, and appointments to its Insurance Law , Appellate and Business Law & Litigation Departments.

Health Care Principal Robin Locke Nagele was elected to the Firm’s Board of Directors by a unanimous vote of current board members. In her new role, Ms. Nagele will work in partnership with other Board members in advancing the Firm’s strategic direction.

In commenting on Ms. Nagele’s appointment, Acting President & CEO Michael W. Gang said, “Robin’s acumen as an attorney and collaborative approach will be an invaluable asset to the Board and to the Firm.” 

The Firm also appointed as Chair of its Insurance Law Department, Principal Richard L. McMonigle, Jr. Mr. McMonigle, a long-term Principal, experienced trial attorney, and author of the treatises Insurance Bad Faith in Pennsylvania, and Insurance Bad Faith in New Jersey, will lead the Department’s representation of insurance carriers, providing advice and counsel on complex coverage and claims handling issues, instituting declaratory judgment actions, and defending alleged breach of contract and bad faith suits in the state and federal courts.   

The Firm appointed Employment & Employee Relations Chair A. James Johnston as the new Chair of the Firm’s Business Law & Litigation Department.  Mr. Johnston will help lead the Firm’s largest department and collaborate with a range of practice groups including:  Employment & Employee Relations, Internal Investigations & White Collar Defense, Energy & Utilities, Health Care, Environmental, Commercial Litigation, and Professional Licensure, among others.
 

James J. Kutz, Chair of the Firm’s Professional Licensure Practice Group, has been appointed as Chair of the Firm’s Appellate Department. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kutz has been responsible for winning, on behalf of a variety of clients from a broad spectrum of industries, multiple precedent-setting appellate decisions. He will lead the Department’s representation of clients before a variety of federal and state appellate courts.

Finally, Principal John W. Dornberger was appointed as the new Administrative Principal of the Firm’s Harrisburg Office. He succeeds Michael W. Gang, who will now focus on his duties as Chair of the Firm’s Board of Directors and Acting President and CEO.
