Bio
Andrew K. Worek is a Principal in the Firm’s Professional Liability Department and Medical Malpractice Practice Group. With over 35 years of litigation experience, Mr. Worek's practice focuses on matters involving medical malpractice, emergency medical services law, healthcare administration, medical devices, and psychiatric malpractice. His clients include hospitals, health systems, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and medical device manufacturers. He also defends physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists in licensure complaints and investigations related to both clinical performance and allegations of ethical violations.
Mr. Worek defends clients in the trial courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as the state and federal appellate courts and has successfully defended clients at trial, mediation, and arbitration.
Prior to joining Post & Schell, Mr. Worek served as a Partner at a regional defense firm for over a decade. He also served as in-house counsel for a large, Philadelphia-based health system, providing counsel on claims handling and internal health system operations. A pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force, Mr. Worek has served in search and rescue operations, and served as the Civil Air Patrol’s National Legal Officer, providing counsel to the organization and to its Board of Governors. Mr. Worek also served as a firefighter and in fire rescue.
From 2006 - 2010 and 2012 - 2023, Mr. Worek was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the category of Medical Malpractice and was named to “Pennsylvania’s Top 100 Lawyers” in 2010. He also holds Martindale Hubbell's highest rating of "AV", for professional excellence in both legal ability and ethics.
