Bio
F. Traynor Beck is a Principal and Chair of the Firm's Corporate Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and business law, and advises early-stage companies with respect to their capital formation needs.
Mr. Beck has more than 30 years of experience in public finance, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, and project finance. His experience ranges from advising multinational corporations in connection with the sale of international business units to advising early-stage start-up companies with respect to all aspects of their business. His clients span a variety of industries and include chemical manufacturers and membership associations, as well as food safety, health care, portable storage, cybersecurity, and real estate services companies.
His experience includes representation of a borrower in connection with a $500 million revolving credit facility and guaranty by 50 separate subsidiaries, as well as the representation of a client in its initial public offering and simultaneous acquisitions of six distribution companies.
Mr. Beck has extensive knowledge of consolidation transactions and project finance transactions in the energy sector, as well as considerable experience representing early-stage companies as they obtain equity and debt financing. He represents franchisors in connection with disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and regulatory filings and provides ongoing contractual review services and advice for all of his clients.
Mr. Beck has broad energy sector experience that includes representation of developers, power purchasers, and financing sources in both fossil-based and renewable energy projects, including energy efficiency, wind, solar, geothermal, and pumped storage facilities located throughout the United States. He has drafted and negotiated power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, fuel handling and supply agreements, and various lending and security documents associated with different energy projects.
Prior to joining Post & Schell, Mr. Beck was a Partner in the corporate practice group of an AmLaw 200 firm and served as the firm's managing partner in Philadelphia. In 1997 he co-founded Consolidation Capital Corporation, a publicly-traded company that raised in excess of $500 million in its initial public offering to consolidate one or more fragmented industries. During the next two years, he served as executive vice president and general counsel and oversaw the company's acquisition program. During that time the company completed more than 50 acquisitions and grew to $1.8 billion in annualized revenue before merging with another public company in February 2000.
