Theresa Mongiovi and Jodi Wilenzik Present on Workplaces Investigations and Best Practices at Lancaster SHRM's June 2022 Breakfast Program on June 14

On June 14, 2022 at 7:15 am ET, Theresa A. Mongiovi and Jodi S. Wilenzik presented an in-depth seminar on workplace investigations in areas including harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, theft, code of ethics, and misconduct. The session was part of the Lancaster chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) June Breakfast Program and took place at the Lancaster Farm & Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, PA.

The seminar discussed legal requirements and practical issues when conducting workplace investigations. Attendees learned the essential steps for responding to a complaint, as well as how to:

  • Define the scope of the investigation.
  • Ask effective questions.
  • Obtain and preserve relevant evidence.
  • Assess credibility.
  • Document the findings.

Collateral issues including insurance coverage, external investigators, leadership investigations, data preservation, confidentiality, and resulting corrective employment action were also discussed.
